MOP announces new artists in residence at Means of Production this year!
Gloria Tsui and Sarah Eby shall be activating the top garden bed, as well as sharing many of the other crops already growing at MOP. Gloria will be planting and tending a crop of Japanese indigo, and having assistance in that process through an informal mentor-ship with Catherine Shapiro. Catherine has a wealth of experience in both gardening and art production from her garden’s bounty- including growing indigo.
Sarah, an eco-artist with experience coming from Ontario, is new to Vancouver and this opportunity at MOP growing both native edibles and art crops will help ground her to her new home, learn about a new climate for growing, and make new friends in the community. Both are Mount Pleasant residents, say hi should you see them in the garden! Read more about the artists and what they have planned here.
