With Halloween over, the winter holiday season is upon us!  Besides stopping by  the Crafthouse, of course, check out these artisan craft markets around BC to find the perfect unique, handmade gift for each of your pals and relations, support local craftspeople, and get into the community holiday spirit. Lower Mainland

 

Winter Treasures: The Fine Art of Holiday Gifting & The Blackberry Artist’s Society Christmas Marketplace

When: Thursday, November 5 – Monday, December 21 (opening reception Thursday, November 5, 6:00 – 8:00 PM)

Where: Port Moody Arts Centre / 2425 St. Johns Street / Port Moody

Admission: free!

What makes it special: This gallery exhibition and sale features the Blackberry Artist’s Society, an entirely member-run organization working to connect  local artists with the community through sales and exhibition opportunities.

Fair Trade Christmas Market at St. Andrew’s United Church

What makes it special: Everything at this market is Fair Trade and handcrafted by artists around the world.

What makes it special: This fair is put on by a great community institution and features a yummy bake sale!

What makes it special: Huge space – over 100 vendors in multiple rooms throughout the school!

Vancouver Coastal Health Art Studios Winter Sale & Silent Auction

When: Thursday, November 26 / 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Where: Heritage Hall / 3102 Main Street / Vancouver

Admission: by donation

What makes it special: Supports Vancouver Coastal Health’s Art Studios program, which uses art to provide rehabilitation and recovery to people with diagnosed mental health issues.
