Please join us in welcoming Charlotte Dron to our team! We are so excited that Charlotte will be sharing her skills and passion for contemporary craft with us as our Communications Coordinator. We’d like to invite you to get to know Charlotte better in her answers to our fun Q and A below.
What inspires you to be part of the Craft Council of BC’s team?
I love all aspects of craft and to have the opportunity to work in the artistic community is a dream come true! I’m looking forward to working alongside talented artists and artisans to help promote both the work they do, and the wider work of the CCBC. Their passion for their art inspires me to help promote craft to the wider community so that everyone can be involved in the craft world!
Can you share a fun fact about yourself?
I have recently moved to Vancouver from London, England, where my background is in biological sciences. I have found a way to combine my love of biology with craft to make wearable organ brooches!
What is it about craft that you are most passionate about?
I love learning about artists’ techniques, history, thought processes and their backgrounds; that all comes with handmade art. Listening to the individual story behind each piece is endlessly fascinating, and knowing that each piece is handcrafted by a local artist is incredibly inspiring.
