Place des Arts multi-disciplinary arts centre in Maillardville, Coquitlam is seeking artisans for its annual Christmas Boutique which takes place at Place des Arts, 1120 Brunette Avenue from November 13 – December 20, 2018. The Christmas Boutique is an expanded version of the centre’s year-round Artisan Shop. Artists and artisans who sell wares at the abundance of craft fairs that take place over the holiday season can take the opportunity to make extra items to display and sell in the Christmas Boutique, where Place des Arts’ qualified staff take care of the sales.
Place des Arts is currently seeking to attract artisans who create finely crafted items such as handmade beeswax candles, stationery and greeting cards, and knitted items, particularly those made from natural fibres. Place des Arts will not be accepting prints of any kind, jewellery or ceramics. Items do not necessarily need to be Christmas themed, but can be gifts that hold year-round appeal. All works are for sale and artisans set prices. Place des Arts retains 30% of the retail price. A $10 application fee applies.
New Artists who wish to be considered for the Christmas Boutique must submit up to five (5) items to be juried, accompanied by a completed registration form (found at placedesarts.ca under Artisan Shop/Christmas Boutique) to the registration desk at Place des Arts, 1120 Brunette Ave Coquitlam.
The deadline for the submission is Friday, July 27, 2018. Artists will be notified of their acceptance by August 3, 2018. For more information, artisans may contact Christmas Boutique coordinator, Lidia Kosznik, at 604.664.1636 ext.23 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org
