Lynda Jones

Medium: Clay

Region: Vancouver Coast & Mountains

After a 25 year career in the production and management of graphic art projects for advertising agencies and design studios in Vancouver Lynda moved to Falkland in the interior of BC, and became a potter. She enrolled in the ceramics summer program at Emily Carr College back in Vancouver and since then has attended many workshops with internationally known potters.

Now, after 21 years as a potter she is still passionate about her signature unglazed smoke-fired art pieces.

Many hours are spent burnishing and polishing these pots. As the artist she can influence the outcome but cannot control the spontaneity of the firing, resulting in truly unique pieces.

Exhibitions include “Cheongju International Craft Biennale” 2009, Korea.
“Art of Craft” 2010, Museum of Vancouver, presented with the Cultural Olympiad.
“Invested” – CCBC 40th Anniversary Provincial Exhibition, Oct 18 to Nov 9, 2013, Pendulum Gallery, Vancouver

Collections include former US President Bill Clinton.
