Elizabeth Harris was raised on a large cattle ranch in northern British Columbia. Harris’ interpretation of life is decidedly based on the ethos of the natural world and our impact on it.
Harris lives a little north of Squamish, where you can’t help but fall in love with the perfect symmetry of the estuary, rainforest and mountains. Harris’ works reflects appreciation for the precarious beauty of nature. Harris’ humour and curiosity are echoed in the plethora of materials used and diversity of applications, which is an echo from her rural roots that thrive in economy, perseverance and obstinance.
Harris is a graduate of Emily Carr University of Art and Design and has shown extensively throughout North America.
