photograph your work[shop] 2020

How do you share your artwork? Are you looking to improve your online applications and up your Instagram game? At the CCBC we offer basic photography workshops exclusively for craft artists, as part of our programming to support artists in furthering their practice.

photo session: take a shot

Duration: 2.5 hours

In this workshop, we will review best practices for product photography, as well as the importance of having high quality photos of your work for online submissions.

For this session, you will need to bring your own digital camera. We will go over camera basics and the manual settings of your own camera. A DSLR is preferred but not required; if you don’t have one, please bring your smartphone or point-and-shoot camera.

We will have a demo session as well as tips and tricks to get the best photo of your work. You will practice taking a well-lit photo both with and without a lightbox (lightbox will be provided on site).

You are required to bring 5-10 pieces of your work to photograph. Smaller sized pieces are encouraged due to space limitations (no more than 1×1 ft).

Peer and instructor feedback will be provided throughout the session.
