artist statement

Living and creating in the peaceful setting of our home overlooking the beautiful Chilliwack River allows me to work each day in a space surrounded by inspiration Creating beautiful vessels to be used or contemplated in daily life renews my spirit, and is a constant reminder of my good fortune at having found this connection with Clay. On discovering crystalline glazes I was entranced with the depth and distinctive qualities of these unique surfaces. While striving for classic, elegant forms well-suited to these complex glazes, I work to maintain an simple yet unique feel for my Crystalline decorative pieces, distinctly different from the more contemporary design elements of my functional stoneware – “Art for Everyday”.
