standards of quality jury

The Standards of Quality Jury is an opportunity for CCBC members to have their work reviewed by an expert in their medium. This is an educational program offered by the CCBC to support members in their pursuit of creating professional contemporary craft.

CCBC strives to maintain a standard of excellence in craftsmanship, so passing the SOQ is required
to sell your work within any of CCBC’s retail opportunities. 

SOQ process

  • review SOQ Guidelines and Checklist
  • 1 month prior to jury date: submit intention to apply to standards[@]craftcouncilbc[.]ca
  • 2 weeks prior to jury date: fill out online form
  • 2 days prior to jury date: deliver work to be juried to the CCBC Shop & Gallery
  • 2 weeks post jurying: receive jury results via email

  • Indicate intention to submit:  Dec 13th, 2023
  • Submit your online documents: Jan 1st
  • Deliver your work/samples to be assessed: Jan 11th

Jury Date: March 8th, 2024

  • Indicate intention to submit: February 10th
  • Submit your online documents: March 1st
  • Deliver your work/samples to be assessed: March 6th

Jury Date: June 14th, 2024

  • Indicate intention to submit: May 16th
  • Submit your online documents: June 3rd
  • Deliver your work/samples to be assessed: Jun 12th

Jury Date: August 16th, 2024

  • Indicate intention to submit: July 18th
  • Submit your online documents: August 4th
  • Deliver your work/samples to be assessed: Aug 14th

Jury Date: October 11th, 2024

  • Indicate intention to submit: Sept 13th
  • Submit your online documents: Oct 1st
  • Deliver your work/samples to be assessed: Oct 8th

Jury Date: January 12th, 2025

  • Indicate intention to submit:  Dec 12th, 2024
