Applications are now open for the Deer Lake Artist Residency Program in Burnaby, BC. The program offers emerging and established artists time and space to create new work in the natural setting of Deer Lake Park.

Residencies are open to artists working across multiple disciplines, including visual arts, theatre, music, literature, poetry, and land-based practices. Residency periods range from 2 to 8 weeks and may include short-term housing in heritage homes, studio access, and opportunities for community engagement. (Ceramics residencies run approximately 6 weeks from early August to mid-September.)

The residency is located near the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts, Burnaby Art Gallery, and Burnaby Village Museum, with access to studios and community spaces. Artists will work with staff to develop optional public programs such as artist talks, readings, or performances.
