Aleksandra Kalinic was born in Belgrade, Serbia where she finished a five year ceramics program at the Belgrade Arts University with honours.
In 2001 Aleksandra moved to Canada and continued her artistic career. She completed a Jewellery Techniques Course at the Vancouver Community College and creates one of a kind silver, copper and vitreous enamel jewellery.
Aleksandra participated in many juried international exhibitions in Serbia, Canada, Japan, Australia, Czech Republic, and Argentina. She won an award from the Association of Applied Artists and Designers of Serbia and was awarded “Mention To The Cultural Identity” at the First International Biennial Of Contemporary Mosaic, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Art has always been an inseparable part of Aleksandra’s life as a window to the deeper side of the world. Her inspiration is life, with all its aspects, and her work is influenced by ancient jewelry and art history, especially painters from the first half of the 20th century.
