Andy Hoff (she/her) lives and works next to the Salish Sea on the traditional, ancestral, and never-ceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh), and sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) Nations. She is an artist whose practice takes multiple forms: ceramics, animation, comics, sound, interaction, design, and performance. Her work has been exhibited in Canada and internationally and published in places such as Broken Pencil, Room Magazine, and Display Canadian Design.
Working through the medium of ceramics, my work engages with narrative practices in both functional and sculptural pottery. I am interested in the unique qualities of different clay bodies and ceramic processes such as hand-building, raku firing, and slip-casting. My most recent projects explore the craft of everyday objects and their relationship to ecology, architecture, and design.
