Cathy Watters moved to Vancouver several years ago and took a pottery class at a local community center. She now teaches pottery and sells her work at Artisan Markets. Cathy’s ceramic artwork has exhibited at the Vancouver Outsiders Art Festival, the PoMo Art Gallery in Port Moody, and art shows in Nova Scotia and Toronto.
artist statement
I have been sculpting with a variety of materials since childhood and when I finally got the chance to try pottery I immediately fell in love. It awakened a passion in me for creating jewellery and miniatures, and challenged me to create more sophisticated sculptures. My artistic work tends towards the whimsical, and I enjoy watching people smile when they see it.
