Connie Glover, born in Kamloops, BC, has a home studio in South Surrey. She has worked with clay for over 40 years and mosaics for about 20. In addition to a regular studio practice, she has completed many public and community public art projects in relief tile and mosaics in Richmond, Surrey, North Vancouver and White Rock.
Over the past forty years, my thrown work has evolved to an organic quality, inspired by the forms of seedpods and buds. I enjoy the energy of new growth, the unfolding, and the promise of new life. My work is mostly soda-glazed stoneware and I also sawdust fire a few pieces now and then,
In addition to my regular ceramic studio practice, I have enjoyed creating a number of large-scale public art and community public art projects. Most recently, in collaboration with Semiahmoo House Society, I coordinated and installed “Canada 150”, a 50 sq. ft. glass and ceramic tile mosaic mural on the exterior of the White Rock Public Library.
