Jackie has been making salt -glazed pottery in the Vancouver area for more than 20 years. She has a BFA in Visual Art from UBC and later studied advanced ceramics at Capilano College. In 2018 she received the prestigious Award of Excellence from the Northwest Ceramics Foundation. Jackie works at the Mergatroid Building in East Van and fires her work in Lund, BC where her salt-fire kiln is situated. The considered forms of her work and its lush salt-fired surfaces combine function and beauty, and contemporary style with traditional technique.
Jackie enjoys the vibrant art community in the city and the extraordinary nature of Desolation Sound.

Making beautiful functional pottery brings me joy and meaning. My hands love to be in practice and in tune with my imagination. I hope that this can be felt by people that handle my work in their daily lives.
