It was the technical challenge of making jewelry that appealed to Laurie along with the process of creating something beautiful from a flat piece of sterling silver/gold-fill/copper/bronze that felt both exciting and magical. In her workshop tools are always awaiting action: drawing, cutting, annealing, torch painting, sawing, filing, texturing, grinding, manipulating, polishing and more on Time is also spent ordering/receiving inventory, designing, researching, learning, experimenting, developing new themes, planning, marketing, filling orders and, of course, creating new and wonderful pieces of jewelry. Laurie also posts regularly on Instagram @laurieamcdonald. Laurie’s jewelry appeals to collectors who have a love for individuality and an eye for original design. Each piece is handcrafted by Laurie in her sunny Victoria studio.
