about

Lisa Forbes was born and raised in the interior of British Columbia, Canada. She came from second generation pioneer logging, ranching and farming families of the North Shuswap and Chase areas, influencing her love of nature and the outdoors.
Lisa and her husband, Douglas Forbes, moved to the Comox Valley in 2000 to retire, embracing the natural wonders of the Salish Sea and Island life.
Lisa has been wet and Nuno felting for seven years; she has very fortunate to have taken numerous one-line and in-person courses from amazing international masters.

artist statement

“I fell down the rabbit hole with the amazingly additive, creatively freeing journey of wet and Nuno felting in the spring of 2018. Wet and Nuno felting has provided me with an organic, natural medium to express the rugged natural beauty of the West Coast of British Columbia to create from the soul, with a blank slate, no patterns or instructions required, if one chooses, ultimately captivating for the mind and soul.
An additional unexpected bonus was all the amazing, fun, like- minded people I have met and befriended along the way, at last finding my tribe.
I have been so fortunate being able to participate multiple in- person and on-line workshops over the past seven years with tremendously talented international felting master instructors.
Thank you all for enhancing and participating in this wonderful journey with me, my heart is full. ♥️”
