about

Nina Turczyn is a Canadian goldsmith and jewellery designer with 20+ years of experience creating finely crafted collections and one-of-a-kind pieces. She is the founder of Paprika, a jewellery line known for its sculptural forms, rich textures, and use of yellow gold with non-traditional gemstones.

Starting in the early 2000s, Nina grew Paprika from craft markets to a sought-after brand in Canadian galleries and boutiques. Rooted in traditional goldsmithing, her work also embraces CAD, 3D printing, and precision stone setting. As head instructor at Argentum Jewellery School, she mentored emerging jewellers, sharing expertise in both classical and contemporary metalwork.

Now based in Spain, Nina has launched Musa de Oro, a boutique and studio in Xàbia dedicated to fine artisanal goldsmithing. While Paprika reflects her Canadian roots, Musa de Oro represents the next evolution of her craft—blending heritage techniques with contemporary design.

artist statement

Jewellery has always been a way to capture history, culture, and a sense of place. Through Paprika, I create pieces that reflect my love of travel, architecture, and the craftsmanship of the past, reinterpreted in a modern way.

My work is inspired by the textures of aged stone, the worn edges of antique gold, and the subtle details found in historical architecture. Silver, bronze and yellow gold are my materials of choice, shaped by hand and combined with non-traditional gemstones to create pieces that feel both timeless and contemporary. I balance traditional goldsmithing techniques with modern processes like CAD and 3D printing, always staying connected to the hands-on nature of the craft.

Paprika started in Canada and grew from small markets to galleries, always rooted in a passion for meaningful, well-made jewellery. Now, as I continue my work in Spain, that foundation remains—creating pieces that feel like modern heirlooms, inspired by history but designed for today.
