Robert is a Toronto based designer, maker, and educator. He has created wearable art for over 30 years generating exhibition work and custom one-of-a-kind pieces that are included in private and gallery collections. He has exhibited both nationally and internationally in group and solo exhibitions and has won numerous awards.
artist statement
My current work is based on my continued fascination with our connection to water, the ocean, the fluidity of time and a sense of material exploration.
Fusing is a technique that I focused on during my time at Harbourfront and my Fish motif was established during that time and continues to fascinate me. The inclusion of material like eggshells with 18k gold and diamonds speaks to me of the value of material regardless of perceived value.
