artist statement

Working with hot glass offers a dynamic intersection between technique and intuition. Ryan’s practice is deeply informed by the natural world, where organic forms and patterns serve as both inspiration and guide. Each piece emerges through a collaborative dialogue with molten glass—a process that unfolds fluidly and often unpredictably until the final moment of completion. It is this sense of discovery, the anticipation of what will be revealed as the kiln cools, that continually draws Ryan back to the studio and sustains his creative pursuit.
