window installations
At the Craft Council of British Columbia, we are proud to offer a dynamic platform for showcasing the incredible talent of local artists through our unique window art installations. Each month, we feature a rotating collection of contemporary craft works that highlight both established and emerging artists from across the province. These carefully curated window art installations celebrate the vibrant and diverse craft scene in British Columbia, while also engaging the public in meaningful ways, sparking curiosity and conversation around the role of craft in contemporary society.

Our window art installations offer passersby the chance to enjoy the art from a distance as they stroll around Granville Island. This creates an inviting, open atmosphere where the art is accessible to all, whether they are familiar with the world of craft or are encountering it for the first time. The window space becomes a compelling, temporary gallery that offers a glimpse into the creativity and craftsmanship of BC’s talented artists. Many of these installations are created by member artists of the CCBC, whose works are also available to view at our gallery.

We encourage visitors to stop by and experience the installations up close by entering our gallery, where they can not only appreciate the art in more detail but also learn about the stories and processes behind the works. Our goal is to provide an inspiring environment that fosters a deeper understanding of contemporary craft and its role in the cultural fabric of British Columbia. Whether you’re an art lover or simply out for a stroll, the CCBC window art installations are sure to ignite your imagination and invite you to explore the innovative craftsmanship that defines our province.

molinari mimesis

This project continues Tracy Susheski’s dedication to crochet Guido Molinari’s paintings. As his student at Concordia she employed his manifesto “painting should neither represent nor deal with the object, but on the contrary, should attempt to become an object itself” thus solidifying her defense of crocheting in a painting class.
